[ "Welcome Tamers" ]

So, you've answered "yes" to the question asking you if you want to save the world. You've gone through the Digital Gate. You've been greeted by Sunflowmon and Nanomon, and told about Tamer Union and the fact that you're to be partnered to a Digimon. What's next?

As it turns out? Ain't no party like a Digimon party because a Digimon party don't stop, and this Digimon party is the biggest and brightest that's been seen in Access City in quite some time! Finally, the Tamer Union is reborn! All these new Tamers and their brand new Digimon are gathered together here in the hopes of bringing peace to the Digital World once more. And what better way to welcome them with a party?

The streets are lined with streamers and festive blinking bits of circuit boards. Multicolored transistors glow softly, lighting the way for revelers who might not yet have a sense of the layout of the town. But hey, if one wishes to step off the beaten path to explore a little more, they're not going to stop you. They all lead to an open area in Access Park, where the main thrust of the party can be found. There’s music being played all night, which might either be new to you, or might be familiar; Tamer Union’s database has samples from across the multiverse, it turns out!

That’s not all, because all of of Access City is now open to new arrivals, from Omekamon’s Arcade to Club Zeal. What’s that? Oh yes, every single establishment in the city will be open all night. It’s a citywide party, after all. Don’t have any BITS? Every single shop is willing to waive their fees… within reason, that is. No one’s going to let you empty out an entire place of business after all.

It’s not all fun and games, though. This is your chance for you and your Digimon partner to meet and get to know one another. Maybe they zero in on you during the party. Maybe the two of you have already found one another. Either way, a night like this may set a precedent for how the two of you you will get on for the future.

[ Prompt #2 ]
[ "Refreshing Refreshments?" ]

No party would be complete without food and drink, and this one's no exception. Access City has gone all out and brought in the widely renowned digital chef, Ebidramon, the proprietor of Ebidramon's Eatery, a restaurant that can be found deep within nearby Bitrot Swamp. Digimon come from far and wide to sample Ebidramon's cuisine, but today, the cuisine has been brought to you!

Ebidramon's palate is said to have ascended beyond human comprehension, and so some of the available foods might not be to everyone's tastes. There's sausage and jellybean pizza and banana and anchovy sliders. There are potato chips and a mysterious "Digital Dip," which the more adventurous among the new arrivals may be able to discover is a delectable blending of marshmallow fluff and caviar. Cookies of all kinds are available as well, ranging from benign chocolate chip to chocolate sandwich cookies with a variety of fun fillings like espresso and buffalo wing. There are asparagus-clam smoothies and a wide selection of the finest sodas and fruit juices available from all across the island. What’s more, some of the strange fruits from Material Jungle have been brought in—the kinds that might leave you turning purple, coughing up polka dots, or making you really energetic all of a sudden.

There's something for everyone, and you can eat as much as you want! This stuff isn't going to keep as leftovers.

[ Prompt #3 ]
[ "They're Throwing What?!" ]

It's the next day. The party has come and gone, and all that's left of it is stuff to be cleaned up. But hey, that's a job for civil servants right? Though they won't say no to anyone offering to help out.

But before any of that can happen, an incident occurs. Coming up from the city's sewers are the likes of Numemon and Geremon. What are those who usually dwell among the muck and the grime coming out of their hole for? Well, they know there was a party last night, and they're angry over not being invited.

(The whole city was invited. The Numemon and Geremon were simply told not to come if they were going to be a nuisance, and they took that to mean not to come at all.)

Putting aside the inequities of Access City vis a vis the filth dwellers, the Numemon and Geremon are intent on trashing Access Park where the party was held and vandalizing as many places of business as they can. Whether that be by throwing their pink "sludge" everywhere, or by trashing the party equipment and furniture, they're intent on raising a lot of really, really dirty hell.

Those caught up in the chaos must either dodge the so-called "goo" they're flinging or work to stop them. Thankfully, Numemon and Geremon aren't too difficult to deal with, despite their being Adult Levels. Tamer Union didn't intend this to be the first challenge Tamers faced in coming to the Digital World, but it seems fate itself had other ideas.

welcome tamers...to an arcade adventure!

[ All of this is ridiculous, according to Kaiba. Why is he of all people a world-saver? His goal is to sit on top of the world. But some seed of worry about the glitches had urged him forward, and here he is. Stuck in a digital world once more. He just hopes he won't come to regret his choice.

He decides to orient himself with this digital world by first visiting the arcade, making it his mission to get 'KAI atop every scoreboard he can. Maybe he'll visit the design studio later, but for now some stress relief with some good old gaming domination should help. He's taking this really seriously, it seems. Should he see anyone else playing, he might approach with folded arms. ]

Are you one of the alleged tamers too? Want to play a game?

[ Unlike Kaiba, other arcade visitors may also notice the teal blob with tiny horns and wings bouncing across the arcade cabinets, confident that her partner is close! She'll find them, soon....but oooh this shiny button looks really tasty. She nuzzles it, trying to stretch her mouth around it. Sorry, were you trying to play this cabinet? She's oblivious, you might have to push her off. ]

[It took work to pry Petitmon away from the arcade and all its shiny lights and buttons, but Kaiba's brought her to dinner and settled her on his shoulder as they sit to eat. The first item he nibbles on turns out to be a grapefruit and bologna sandwich, and he has so many questions. ]

...I don't think this food is meant for humans. Not humans that have functioning tastebuds, anyway. Do Digimon really eat this?

I don't know. But lemme try!

[ Kaiba gives Petitmon a smoothie with a little straw, and she takes a big slurp! It's earthy and tangy, how delicious! She takes another, and suddenly her tiny wings flap into overdrive and send her zooming up toward the ceiling. ]

Whoa, I'm so fast! Aaah!

[ She hits the ceiling with a small cry and a thump, then promptly tumbles down. He tries to catch her, but she slips through his fingers and lands in a bowl of chicken noodle pudding, splattering herself, Kaiba, and likely a few nearby guests as well.

He's going to stare blankly at Petitmon for a moment, who's quite happy to be covered in slimy pudding. She giggles. His eyebrow twitches.

What a night, right. ]

With A Splash

[Nara'a's ears and tail flick in annoyance at being suddenly covered with food, but Botamon seems absolutely thrilled. He starts nibbling at the pudding on his tamer's clothes, and the older(?) man sighs.]

Well, this wasn't how I was planning on meeting new people...

[He's still smiling slightly, though.]

Hello there. I'm Nara'a. This is -

Botamon!

... Yeah. And you two are?

[ Kaiba eventually finds a large napkin and wraps Petitmon in it first Better to get her clean and dry before she bounces across the table and spreads the mess further. He flicks his dripping hair out of his eyes and sighs. Making a terrible first impression. ]

Seto Kaiba. And this terrifying ball of destruction is Petitmon.

Whoa, am I really scary?

[ Petitmon looks up at her partner so hopefully. He answers, dryly, but with the slightest hint of a smile. ]

Your optimism's scaring me a little.

Woohoo! Nice to meet you guys! Do you like it here so far?

[aetherweaver]

[He huffs in amusement and motions to his partner.]

Well, the people are pretty nice. Though being pulled in to 'save the world' is something I'm unfortunately used to at this point.

[He sounds kind of tired, but Botamon nudges him and he shakes his head.]

It's a little overwhelming, though. There's a lot of information to take in... and I think some of the technology here is a lot different from what I'm used to. Even more advanced than what Garlemald has...

Garlic ball?

... Is food all you ever think about?

Umm...

[The digimon appears to think for a moment, and Nara'a laughs a little.]

It's okay.

I never wanted to save the world. But if I let it fall, there's nothing for me to go back to.

[ He grabs more napkins and attempts to clean himself now. Long way to go. ]

I've been in digital worlds before, but they're usually dangerous right away. I'm expecting the battles to be a nightmare. Which means we need to train.

But can we eat first?

[ Kaiba reaches for a cookie and feeds it to her, then tuns to Nara'a. ]

Just let me find something I can eat without gagging...did you find anything edible?

Refreshing Refreshments with a Splash

(Harry just so happens to be eating his food nearby when he sees a little dragon like Digimon flying to the ceiling and landing onto the chicken noodle pudding with some of it landing on his face. Coronamon, his partner, had a huge chuck of it on his mane.)

Well, at least your little friend landed safely. And it’s okay though, I shouldn’t be sitting this close to the pudding when she landed on it.

(Coronamon usually doesn’t like having food landing on his mane at a party, but he takes a part of the pudding and bites onto it. Tastes better than the caviar in the Digital Dip though.)

Oh wow, this chicken noodle pudding tastes really good, Harry. You should try it out!

Coronamon, not right now.

Not your fault. Just be careful what you feed them, the effects are as unpredictable as the taste.

[ Kaiba's trying to wipe his squirming blob dry. She still thinks this is hilarious, and she's eagerly slurping up the mess around her mouth. At least whatever's in the pudding doesn't seem to make this worse. ]

Hiya! I'm Petitmon, and Mr. Grumpy is Seto. Are you new partners too?

Alright then, I will have to make a quick reminder of ensuring that whatever goes into my partner’s stomach doesn’t make him feeling strange.

(Of course, the Digital Dip give him a quick lesson that some food in this world does taste weird as Coronamon’s terrible reaction to the caviar pointed it out to him.)

Yes, we’re also partners as well! I’m Coronamon and this guy here is named Harry. Nice to meet you two.

There has to be something safe to eat. But...if we've been digitized, do we even need to eat?

[ Kaiba scoops up a little bowl from what's left of the pudding and holds it in front of her. At least this doesn't seem to be dangerous. ]

Training to save the world, huh. I don't see it ending well.

Hm?

[ Airu turns, looks up. And up. And up.

Holy crap, this guy is tall. Not to mention hot, in a clean-cut older-guy kind of way. Airu supposes she's down with that - if the guy hadn't gone and insulted her, right off the bat. ]

Nothing about me's "alleged"! I'm an expert Digimon Hunter, y'know!

[ .....wait, is that what it's called here? ]

[blue_ice]

...You've done this before?

[ He looks surprised. He'd thought most of the arrivals were new. ]

Hm. I wasn't told anything about hunting Digimon. Apparently I'm supposed to partner with one.

[ Hm...one of the machines the next aisle over is spitting out tickets! The baby Digimon who won those tickets...has no idea what to do with them, she's just going to play with the ribbon like it's a toy. ]

[cutiecatcher]

That's right. [ Airu poses, a hand on her chest. The disparity in ages does not seem to affect her tone. ] I have forgotten more about Digimon than the little boys here will ever know! After all, I only care about the cutest, the sweetest -

[ .......what is

happening....

over....

....there.

Airu's head turns, stiffly, to stare at the baby. She holds her hands up like she's got a pair of invisible binoculars, squinting at it. ]

Hey, hey. The guy's still here!

[ Alas, Opossummon, you are being ignored. There is a baby.

A LITTLE ICKLE BABY. ]

[blue_ice]

Hm. Confdent. Maybe you have something to teach...

[ He trails off, wondering what's so important that she's not arguing with him anymore. It's a little harder for him to see the baby playing on the floor at his height, so he misses her at first.

But Petitmon knows her target is so close! She grabs some tickets between her teeth, summons her strength, and does her best to fly. It's awkward and unsteady, but she manages to safely bounce onto a cabinet near Airu. ]

Hi! You seem cool, maybe you can help me! I need to find a partner!

[ Kaiba finally notices her, and he hangs back. Is that blob a Digimon? She's so...small. ]

[ Akira turns, surprised by the sudden influx of pudding and noodles - but when she sees what's happened, all apparent cognizance of her own messy state flies out of her head.

Instead, she picks up the little Digimon, checking her for injury. She laughs a little - that had been a big splash - but still wants to check: ] You okay?

[ A black dog with boxing gloves, meanwhile, slips over to Seto's other side and retrieves a stack of napkins. Pardon him. Sir requires these. ]

[blue_ice]

I'm fine! This is fun! Whoa...little messy, though.

[ Seto watches the other Digimon retrieve the napkins, then collects a few for himself. Time to wipe this all up and approach the other tamer. ]

...sorry. Petitmon's a little too enthusiastic.

[chiencolat]

It's fine. There, there.

[ These two phrases were directed to two different members of the partnership. Akira even wipes off Petitmon with a napkin offered to her by the boxing dog, making sure to give the little buddy plenty of head rubs for being a good girl, then holds out the smaller Digimon for reuniting with her partner.

And, since these two are clearly fellow Tamers: ]

My name's Kenjo Akira. Nice to meet you both.

Thank you, miss.

[ That's Petitmon for you. Sweet and gentle, and giggling. Seto gratefully takes Petitmon back, securing her in his arms so she can't make another mess. ]

Seto Kaiba, and this is Petitmon. I'm learning that baby Digimon have unpredictable bursts of energy.

[ As if on cue, the baby yawns and blinks slowly. ]

Are you an experienced tamer?

[ The Arcade was never something Yuzu actively tried to go to, but she's been a good few times with Yuya and the rest of the You Show kids. Still, it seems fun when Yuzu and her partner, Lalamon, pass by.

Yuzu is sitting at a machine taking a quick break before she continues, looking at the screen of her Duel Disk (though it just looks like a somewhat clunky pad at the moment) to see if any of her messages back home went through... but as expected, to no avail.

She looks up, though, when Kaiba speaks to her. ]

Hm? Yeah, apparently I am.

Yuzu! He wants to play! That means there is that multiplayer thing! I wanna play too!

I'd love to, Lalamon... but you're too small for the controls...

Am not! Watch!

[ Lalamon will then float in front of Yuzu and try to man the controls in front of her. As expected... it doesn't seem to work very well. Lalamon has to float to one side of the machine just to use the buttons on that side, and then to the other side in order to use the other section of controls.

Yuzu does notice Petitmon nearby, but there are Digimon everywhere in this world, so she doesn't pay much attention to it at the moment. ]

[blue_ice]

[ Kaiba nods a greeting. All right, they want to play...? He'll play. He flexes his fingers and prepares for a game, only to watch as a small...flower? Tries to play. ]

...hm. Surely an arcade in the digital world would have games suitable for Digimon to play?

[ Looks like Petitmon's found one, at least. She bounces closer, playing some kind of rhythm game with a flat table of buttons. She bounces from button to button, trying to time her hits with the music notes on the screen.

Seto's head turns. ]

Looks like that one's not having much trouble. Do you want to try it?

[ He'll start to head over, only for the small teal dragon blob to stop her playing and stare at him. Huh. He stares back. The little one says nothing but bounces aside, deciding to watch them for a bit. ]

[ Oh, there definitely are, but Lalamon seems rather determined to try and play the one Yuzu was playing... despite the fact it wasn't going very well. ]

Yeah, let's try a different game, okay Lalamon?

Mmm... alright...

[ Yuzu will get up then and follow him... huh, he's super tall even now that she's standing up. Reminds her of someone.

That particular thought process is interrupted though as she properly notices the small baby Digimon as well as it bounces out of the way. ]

Rhythm game? Sounds good to me!

Yuzu! Yuzu! Let me play first!

Alright alright! Is that fine with you?

Fine.

[ Seto sits back to watch the game. Interesting. He'll have to raise a Digimon who can compete when he finds his partner.

Meanwhile, the baby dragon creeps closer. Hm...hm....She speaks.]

'Scuse me, I'm looking for my partner! Have you seen anybody who looks like they could use one?

[prophesis]

[ There is the tiniest hint of a chuckle behind Kaiba. ]

Excitement seems boded in your future...

[ Gliding forward to offer Kaiba a napkin: the world's most infuriating archaeological expert. She's wearing a new scarf. ]

....Seto.

[blue_ice]

[ Seto's eyes widen in surprise at the sight of her. Ishizu...here? How? He does take the offered napkin, but he uses it to wipe Petitmon dry. The squirming Digimon will just make him messy again if he doesn't clean her first. ]

Thank you pretty lady!

[ His baby chirps, and he sighs as he reaches up to wipe his face with his free hand. ]

Doesn't take a fortune teller to see that when I've been assigned Petitmon. I take it your partnership's going better?

[prophesis]

I have no complaints.

[ Is Ishizu's holy neck weasel....preening? ]

It is good to see you here.

...mm. Good to see you too, I guess.

[ He's not. Petitmon is, though. She's still beaming at everyone. ]
