TDM #1 - "Welcome to the Digital World"
I'll come to see you soon
It's best to forget the unnecessary things
There's no more time to be fooling around...
[ Prompt #1 ]
[ "Welcome Tamers" ]
[ "Welcome Tamers" ]
So, you've answered "yes" to the question asking you if you want to save the world. You've gone through the Digital Gate. You've been greeted by Sunflowmon and Nanomon, and told about Tamer Union and the fact that you're to be partnered to a Digimon. What's next?
As it turns out? Ain't no party like a Digimon party because a Digimon party don't stop, and this Digimon party is the biggest and brightest that's been seen in Access City in quite some time! Finally, the Tamer Union is reborn! All these new Tamers and their brand new Digimon are gathered together here in the hopes of bringing peace to the Digital World once more. And what better way to welcome them with a party?
The streets are lined with streamers and festive blinking bits of circuit boards. Multicolored transistors glow softly, lighting the way for revelers who might not yet have a sense of the layout of the town. But hey, if one wishes to step off the beaten path to explore a little more, they're not going to stop you. They all lead to an open area in Access Park, where the main thrust of the party can be found. There’s music being played all night, which might either be new to you, or might be familiar; Tamer Union’s database has samples from across the multiverse, it turns out!
That’s not all, because all of of Access City is now open to new arrivals, from Omekamon’s Arcade to Club Zeal. What’s that? Oh yes, every single establishment in the city will be open all night. It’s a citywide party, after all. Don’t have any BITS? Every single shop is willing to waive their fees… within reason, that is. No one’s going to let you empty out an entire place of business after all.
It’s not all fun and games, though. This is your chance for you and your Digimon partner to meet and get to know one another. Maybe they zero in on you during the party. Maybe the two of you have already found one another. Either way, a night like this may set a precedent for how the two of you you will get on for the future.
[ Prompt #2 ]
[ "Refreshing Refreshments?" ]
[ "Refreshing Refreshments?" ]
No party would be complete without food and drink, and this one's no exception. Access City has gone all out and brought in the widely renowned digital chef, Ebidramon, the proprietor of Ebidramon's Eatery, a restaurant that can be found deep within nearby Bitrot Swamp. Digimon come from far and wide to sample Ebidramon's cuisine, but today, the cuisine has been brought to you!
Ebidramon's palate is said to have ascended beyond human comprehension, and so some of the available foods might not be to everyone's tastes. There's sausage and jellybean pizza and banana and anchovy sliders. There are potato chips and a mysterious "Digital Dip," which the more adventurous among the new arrivals may be able to discover is a delectable blending of marshmallow fluff and caviar. Cookies of all kinds are available as well, ranging from benign chocolate chip to chocolate sandwich cookies with a variety of fun fillings like espresso and buffalo wing. There are asparagus-clam smoothies and a wide selection of the finest sodas and fruit juices available from all across the island. What’s more, some of the strange fruits from Material Jungle have been brought in—the kinds that might leave you turning purple, coughing up polka dots, or making you really energetic all of a sudden.
There's something for everyone, and you can eat as much as you want! This stuff isn't going to keep as leftovers.
[ Prompt #3 ]
[ "They're Throwing What?!" ]
[ "They're Throwing What?!" ]
It's the next day. The party has come and gone, and all that's left of it is stuff to be cleaned up. But hey, that's a job for civil servants right? Though they won't say no to anyone offering to help out.
But before any of that can happen, an incident occurs. Coming up from the city's sewers are the likes of Numemon and Geremon. What are those who usually dwell among the muck and the grime coming out of their hole for? Well, they know there was a party last night, and they're angry over not being invited.
(The whole city was invited. The Numemon and Geremon were simply told not to come if they were going to be a nuisance, and they took that to mean not to come at all.)
Putting aside the inequities of Access City vis a vis the filth dwellers, the Numemon and Geremon are intent on trashing Access Park where the party was held and vandalizing as many places of business as they can. Whether that be by throwing their pink "sludge" everywhere, or by trashing the party equipment and furniture, they're intent on raising a lot of really, really dirty hell.
Those caught up in the chaos must either dodge the so-called "goo" they're flinging or work to stop them. Thankfully, Numemon and Geremon aren't too difficult to deal with, despite their being Adult Levels. Tamer Union didn't intend this to be the first challenge Tamers faced in coming to the Digital World, but it seems fate itself had other ideas.
Mod Notes - Please refer to the Game Info/FAQ for details on how various things in this game work. If something is not covered there, we have the What Are Digimon? page, the Glossary of Terms, the in-progress locations post, and profiles for Digimon up to the Child-Level. If something isn't covered there and you have further questions, or questions about the TDM itself, there will be a space to ask the mods themselves. Also, watch for posts where you can directly interact with some of Tamer Union's key NPCs!
hope this is okay!
Renamon had opted not to perch on Scintilla's shoulder like she might have as a Pokomon--which was fortunate, as she was somewhere around the same height as her Tamer. But wasn't that sort of the least of her concerns right now?
I, ah..." She floundered for a second, caught off guard by a) an Ancient and b) an Ancient she'd met. "...don't think so? It's okay, mine doesn't much care for me yet either."
"Hmph." Renamon folded her arms, scoffing.
"See?"
[i'm all good with general unfamiliarity for the sake of keeping it interesting, however you wanna roll with it]
Looks good to me!
Scintilla might recognize him, but the warder has no idea who she is. Had he aethersight as some were blessed to, he might recognize the color of her soul - but such gifts are simply beyond him. Much to his endless consternation.
"Of course not," is the sighed response. If Renamon wasn't determined to try to take over the world, he'd be happy for the trade ... but someone else picking your familiar seemed to mean that was the only 'option' available..
The little virus digimon doesn't seem at all disturbed by this. "Aw, I like him fine!" One wing pats the enshrouding hood in a friendly manner. "We just gotta get our priorities in line, you know?"
no subject
"...Well, yours looks harmless enough." Either brushing aside the potential awkward conversation or simply that easily distracted, she looked to PicoDevimon and tilted her head slightly. She'd definitely seen much, much worse, at least.
"Of course he does. If he acts up you can just see how far you can pitch him."
no subject
Speaking of teeth, PicoDevimon bares his; there's an impressive array of them but they are so small, even if they look very sharp."Shows how much you know. I have wings, stupid, I won't get thrown very far!" Said small wings are spread, in a way that would be menacing in a more evolved digimon. "In fact, why don't you come up here and give it a shot and see how far you--"
"The first being to try to climb me is going to be tied to a post," the warder says, sounding suddenly rather tired, shoulders sagging a little. "You're not children."
His digi-partner puffs up a little. "Actually, we are!"
no subject
"She's lookin' to be pretty ambitious." piped up the Miqo'te, utterly ignoring or unaware of the less than subtle jab at her specifically. "I think this could be a lot of fun, myself." Deciding that something was perhaps a bit strange on the time travel side, she landed on the side of caution. "Name's Scintilla, by the way."
no subject
It seems the giant has decided the best thing he can possibly do is completely ignore PicoDevimon. "Erichthonios. I made a commitment when I pressed 'yes', so I intend to see this through come fire or ice, but having fun might be going a bit too far."
There's a sigh, as if this attitude of 'let's enjoy it while we can!' isn't a new one. "When he turns up again I'll point Themis your way, he's got the same idea. He hasn't said so but he's wandering around with this idiotic grin plastered to his face like it's the best time he's had in a few years.."
no subject
"Well, we're here whether we like it or not. Don't see much point in draggin' my feet and being upset about what I can't change."
Sure, she was worried the Scions would eventually notice she was missing, but for the present time there wasn't much to do but go along with it.
"I changed my mind, the tall one is worse. At least mine isn't boring."
"Either way, nice to...meet you?" It was hard not to say that with a little hesitation, all things considered.
no subject
How many friends would be gone, by the time he came back? How many would be directly his fault for pressing 'yes' when he should have wondered a little more where the message even came from?
He shakes his head. "I'll take boring after the last couple days, and say thank you for it."
And worry instead. "...Circumstances aside, yes, it's nice to meet you, Scintilla. You don't by any strange chance know exactly what world ending threat--"
"We were going to let you help us," PicoDevimon interrupts suddenly, fluttering a bit in place, "But since your partner's sour face will pickle every cucumber for miles and miles, you're just gonna have to figure everything out yourselves!"
Very carefully Erichthonios reaches up and grasps the little digimon, who protests this sudden giant hand with a muffled "Hey!" and then sets PicoDevimon directly on the ground. "You talk very tough for someone hiding out of reach."
Is he leaving PicoDevimon to get the crap beaten out of him??? ... Not at all, but boy might it seem that way.
no subject
"Be nice, both of you. We're not here to fight one another." Turning back to Ericthonios, she shook her head.
"Sorry--doubt I know much more than you on that front. My best guess is that once things settle down and everybody's gone and partnered off, we've a better shot at getting clearer answers on what we're really doin' here."
no subject
"So long as no harm is done, a tussle doesn't hurt." He's not going to prevent anything unless it looks like it's getting out of hand, but encouraging true violence wasn't going to happen either.
Sometimes creations just needed to stretch a bit and flex their claws. Letting them do it safely kept it from becoming UNsafe. "Looks like I've got some asking around to do. Whoever extended the invitations to us surely is aware of what's happening, but I suspect the one I took was not actually intended for me." No, Themis was far more capable. "Step one might be finding out who even asked us to come hither, and unravel matters from there."
no subject
"If you want some broken bones, sure." Scoffing again, the fox Digimon flicked an ear in indifference.
"All the same--if you don't think it was meant for you, then who're you thinking they meant to call?" She had to repress a shudder at the idea of being stuck here with Lahabrea--Emet-Selch, sure. Elidibus, she could handle. But Lahabrea, hells no.
no subject
Is .. is he supposed to tell them NOT to fight? This is considered for a long moment before being dismissed. Maybe that was just the sort of fox Renamon was.
"Likely my f... companion, who arrived with me." If anyone would.. "Themis is quite skilled on many levels, and we were in the same location when the question appeared. I have no doubt it was intended for him."
PicoDevimon pats one immense hand with a much, much tinier wing. "Don't worry about that. You're here now, and you're my partner, so you're supposed to be here."
