[ "Welcome Tamers" ]

So, you've answered "yes" to the question asking you if you want to save the world. You've gone through the Digital Gate. You've been greeted by Sunflowmon and Nanomon, and told about Tamer Union and the fact that you're to be partnered to a Digimon. What's next?

As it turns out? Ain't no party like a Digimon party because a Digimon party don't stop, and this Digimon party is the biggest and brightest that's been seen in Access City in quite some time! Finally, the Tamer Union is reborn! All these new Tamers and their brand new Digimon are gathered together here in the hopes of bringing peace to the Digital World once more. And what better way to welcome them with a party?

The streets are lined with streamers and festive blinking bits of circuit boards. Multicolored transistors glow softly, lighting the way for revelers who might not yet have a sense of the layout of the town. But hey, if one wishes to step off the beaten path to explore a little more, they're not going to stop you. They all lead to an open area in Access Park, where the main thrust of the party can be found. There’s music being played all night, which might either be new to you, or might be familiar; Tamer Union’s database has samples from across the multiverse, it turns out!

That’s not all, because all of of Access City is now open to new arrivals, from Omekamon’s Arcade to Club Zeal. What’s that? Oh yes, every single establishment in the city will be open all night. It’s a citywide party, after all. Don’t have any BITS? Every single shop is willing to waive their fees… within reason, that is. No one’s going to let you empty out an entire place of business after all.

It’s not all fun and games, though. This is your chance for you and your Digimon partner to meet and get to know one another. Maybe they zero in on you during the party. Maybe the two of you have already found one another. Either way, a night like this may set a precedent for how the two of you you will get on for the future.

[ Prompt #2 ]
[ "Refreshing Refreshments?" ]

No party would be complete without food and drink, and this one's no exception. Access City has gone all out and brought in the widely renowned digital chef, Ebidramon, the proprietor of Ebidramon's Eatery, a restaurant that can be found deep within nearby Bitrot Swamp. Digimon come from far and wide to sample Ebidramon's cuisine, but today, the cuisine has been brought to you!

Ebidramon's palate is said to have ascended beyond human comprehension, and so some of the available foods might not be to everyone's tastes. There's sausage and jellybean pizza and banana and anchovy sliders. There are potato chips and a mysterious "Digital Dip," which the more adventurous among the new arrivals may be able to discover is a delectable blending of marshmallow fluff and caviar. Cookies of all kinds are available as well, ranging from benign chocolate chip to chocolate sandwich cookies with a variety of fun fillings like espresso and buffalo wing. There are asparagus-clam smoothies and a wide selection of the finest sodas and fruit juices available from all across the island. What’s more, some of the strange fruits from Material Jungle have been brought in—the kinds that might leave you turning purple, coughing up polka dots, or making you really energetic all of a sudden.

There's something for everyone, and you can eat as much as you want! This stuff isn't going to keep as leftovers.

[ Prompt #3 ]
[ "They're Throwing What?!" ]

It's the next day. The party has come and gone, and all that's left of it is stuff to be cleaned up. But hey, that's a job for civil servants right? Though they won't say no to anyone offering to help out.

But before any of that can happen, an incident occurs. Coming up from the city's sewers are the likes of Numemon and Geremon. What are those who usually dwell among the muck and the grime coming out of their hole for? Well, they know there was a party last night, and they're angry over not being invited.

(The whole city was invited. The Numemon and Geremon were simply told not to come if they were going to be a nuisance, and they took that to mean not to come at all.)

Putting aside the inequities of Access City vis a vis the filth dwellers, the Numemon and Geremon are intent on trashing Access Park where the party was held and vandalizing as many places of business as they can. Whether that be by throwing their pink "sludge" everywhere, or by trashing the party equipment and furniture, they're intent on raising a lot of really, really dirty hell.

Those caught up in the chaos must either dodge the so-called "goo" they're flinging or work to stop them. Thankfully, Numemon and Geremon aren't too difficult to deal with, despite their being Adult Levels. Tamer Union didn't intend this to be the first challenge Tamers faced in coming to the Digital World, but it seems fate itself had other ideas.

Mhmm, that would be correct!

[He shouted but he momentarily gave a small pout. As he got a good look at Ken and Wormmon, he doesn't look like someone he knew. And yet...?]

How do you know about the both of them? Are they here too?

[ Ken looks sheepish. Right...it's logical to draw that conclusion. He'll need to explain this clearly, with the most pertinent information. Takeru must be lonely. ] Sorry. I haven't seen them.

[ He gestures first to himself, then his partner. ] My name's Ken. This is Wormmon.

I'm Wormmon.

[ He's Wormmon. ]

It might be hard to believe, but we're from the future. You're my friend, Takeru-kun.

[Well. As much as he wanted to hear that his brother and the others were here, he was glad to see a new (old?) friend. Taking a step closer, he looked at Ken up and down before giving his hand out to him.]

It's nice to meet you, Ken-san and Wommon. But are we still friends?

[Because that's all he cares about!]

Could we still be friends now? [Even with a huge age gap?]

[ Ken and Wormmon both beam. Ken takes Takeru's hand. His own is gentle, and warm. ]

Of course!

Hi, Patamon.

[ Wormmon waves. THEY ARE FRIENDS TOO HE LOVES FRIENDS. ]

[Meanwhile, the orange pig looked at Wormmon before giving his paw out to the other.]

Hi to you too! I don't know who you are but it's always nice to meet up with a new friend!

[Pause]

Or would that be called an old one?

Hmmmmmm.

[ Wormmon thinks about this. Then hits on the perfect solution! ]

Which is it, Ken-chan?

...How about saying we're "good" friends, instead?

That works! [ To Takeru and Patamon: ] Ken-chan's sure smart, huh.

[ The smart young man grins modestly. Behold, Takeru! A RESPONSIBLE ADULT. ]

Then good friends we are!

[He gave a chuckle. Even though he just met him, Takeru did feel at ease around this young man. Although, that being said?]

By the way, that means you know about the Digital World right? Is the future Digital World any different from the one we're in now?

[ Ken nods. ] This is its own world. But the Digimon here gave us places to stay. We won't normally need to camp or look for food.

[ And now he grins. ] If we do, I'll be asking for your help.

[ If he remembers his friends' stories correctly, a younger Takeru had tried very hard to be reliable and independent! And when he has experiences Ken lacks, like time spent in a proper jamjar, Ken has no qualms about consulting a second-grader. ]

Eh, why would you ask for my help?

[It seemed rather odd. Wasn't Ken supposed to be the older one? Why would he ask Takeru for help?]

I don't really know anything about this Digital World yet!

You've camped out more.

[ He shrugs. ] I admire that.

I don't think it's anything to look up to.

[He said before raising an eyebrow.]

I've gone camping once during the summer before I went to the Digital World so it's not that great.

[ He's modest even at this age. Ken won't push it. ] In any case, I'm glad you're here.

[ He offers Takeru a hand, if the smaller boy wants it. ] Were you going somewhere?

Kind of? I was hoping to see my friends were here.

[He said before looking at his hand. As he looked back at Ken and then back at said hand, he hesitated. While he did wonder if he should trust him, he didn't seem like a bad person.

When he did, he flashed a small smile at him.] But I guess I don't have to worry if one of my friends is here.

Ken smiles back. "Mm."

Then, it occurs to him: "...Come to think of it, I did see Taichi-san. He's big like me, though."

Maybe that won't make a difference. Ken has been impressed with Taichi-san as a leader even before joining the group. Now that he's able to reflect more objectively, he wonders whether the Digimon Kaiser targeted Agumon out of repressed envy.

Eh, Taichi-san is here too?

[With that, his eyes widen before looking back up at Ken. Taking a step back, he couldn't help but wonder just how big his leader was.]

Just how big is he? Is he taller than you? [Because he can imagine it! As he stood on his toes, he was trying to make a mental image of just how tall Taichi is!]

Awe at Taichi-san, hm...

"Not exactly," Ken replies. He is about to go on and explain that he is abnormally tall for his age, but Wormmon adds: "His hair comes close!"

.....which is also correct.

You mean you're taller than him? How is that possible, I thought Taichi-san was already tall!

[With that, the young boy had to take a step back and be in awe!]

I don't think that's very fair! [Just saying!]

There was a time when Ken would have felt bad, potentially, or at least awkward, about being told he possessed unfair height. But now he just looks soft, understanding, encouraging.

"You grow tall too," he reminds Takeru. "There's many things to look forward to."

Many friends, many adventures. Some are better memories than others. He's uncertain how much he should tell this smaller version of Takeru-san (-kun?), but he's fairly confident he can say everything does, in fact, work out all right. Just as Takeru himself has always worked to ensure.

"I will? Will I get taller than my brother and Taichi-san?"

While he doubts it, he just wanted to know if he could be seen as a leader like the both of them. As he gave a small frown, he leaned down before giving Ken a raised eyebrow. It was almost as if he was waiting for Ken to continue with his sentence.

"But what kind of things should I be looking forward to? What is going to happen?"

Because he sure would like to know about his future!
