TDM #1 - "Welcome to the Digital World"
I'll come to see you soon
It's best to forget the unnecessary things
There's no more time to be fooling around...
[ Prompt #1 ]
[ "Welcome Tamers" ]
[ "Welcome Tamers" ]
So, you've answered "yes" to the question asking you if you want to save the world. You've gone through the Digital Gate. You've been greeted by Sunflowmon and Nanomon, and told about Tamer Union and the fact that you're to be partnered to a Digimon. What's next?
As it turns out? Ain't no party like a Digimon party because a Digimon party don't stop, and this Digimon party is the biggest and brightest that's been seen in Access City in quite some time! Finally, the Tamer Union is reborn! All these new Tamers and their brand new Digimon are gathered together here in the hopes of bringing peace to the Digital World once more. And what better way to welcome them with a party?
The streets are lined with streamers and festive blinking bits of circuit boards. Multicolored transistors glow softly, lighting the way for revelers who might not yet have a sense of the layout of the town. But hey, if one wishes to step off the beaten path to explore a little more, they're not going to stop you. They all lead to an open area in Access Park, where the main thrust of the party can be found. There’s music being played all night, which might either be new to you, or might be familiar; Tamer Union’s database has samples from across the multiverse, it turns out!
That’s not all, because all of of Access City is now open to new arrivals, from Omekamon’s Arcade to Club Zeal. What’s that? Oh yes, every single establishment in the city will be open all night. It’s a citywide party, after all. Don’t have any BITS? Every single shop is willing to waive their fees… within reason, that is. No one’s going to let you empty out an entire place of business after all.
It’s not all fun and games, though. This is your chance for you and your Digimon partner to meet and get to know one another. Maybe they zero in on you during the party. Maybe the two of you have already found one another. Either way, a night like this may set a precedent for how the two of you you will get on for the future.
[ Prompt #2 ]
[ "Refreshing Refreshments?" ]
[ "Refreshing Refreshments?" ]
No party would be complete without food and drink, and this one's no exception. Access City has gone all out and brought in the widely renowned digital chef, Ebidramon, the proprietor of Ebidramon's Eatery, a restaurant that can be found deep within nearby Bitrot Swamp. Digimon come from far and wide to sample Ebidramon's cuisine, but today, the cuisine has been brought to you!
Ebidramon's palate is said to have ascended beyond human comprehension, and so some of the available foods might not be to everyone's tastes. There's sausage and jellybean pizza and banana and anchovy sliders. There are potato chips and a mysterious "Digital Dip," which the more adventurous among the new arrivals may be able to discover is a delectable blending of marshmallow fluff and caviar. Cookies of all kinds are available as well, ranging from benign chocolate chip to chocolate sandwich cookies with a variety of fun fillings like espresso and buffalo wing. There are asparagus-clam smoothies and a wide selection of the finest sodas and fruit juices available from all across the island. What’s more, some of the strange fruits from Material Jungle have been brought in—the kinds that might leave you turning purple, coughing up polka dots, or making you really energetic all of a sudden.
There's something for everyone, and you can eat as much as you want! This stuff isn't going to keep as leftovers.
[ Prompt #3 ]
[ "They're Throwing What?!" ]
[ "They're Throwing What?!" ]
It's the next day. The party has come and gone, and all that's left of it is stuff to be cleaned up. But hey, that's a job for civil servants right? Though they won't say no to anyone offering to help out.
But before any of that can happen, an incident occurs. Coming up from the city's sewers are the likes of Numemon and Geremon. What are those who usually dwell among the muck and the grime coming out of their hole for? Well, they know there was a party last night, and they're angry over not being invited.
(The whole city was invited. The Numemon and Geremon were simply told not to come if they were going to be a nuisance, and they took that to mean not to come at all.)
Putting aside the inequities of Access City vis a vis the filth dwellers, the Numemon and Geremon are intent on trashing Access Park where the party was held and vandalizing as many places of business as they can. Whether that be by throwing their pink "sludge" everywhere, or by trashing the party equipment and furniture, they're intent on raising a lot of really, really dirty hell.
Those caught up in the chaos must either dodge the so-called "goo" they're flinging or work to stop them. Thankfully, Numemon and Geremon aren't too difficult to deal with, despite their being Adult Levels. Tamer Union didn't intend this to be the first challenge Tamers faced in coming to the Digital World, but it seems fate itself had other ideas.
Mod Notes - Please refer to the Game Info/FAQ for details on how various things in this game work. If something is not covered there, we have the What Are Digimon? page, the Glossary of Terms, the in-progress locations post, and profiles for Digimon up to the Child-Level. If something isn't covered there and you have further questions, or questions about the TDM itself, there will be a space to ask the mods themselves. Also, watch for posts where you can directly interact with some of Tamer Union's key NPCs!

"I'm afraid Digimon partners can't be changed," he said. "I imagine the two of you aren't getting along well, then?"
no subject
"Nah, we got this. Just some early disagreement-type things! You don't have to worry about anything!"
There is much to worry about when tiny demonlets are involved, but those will have to be stumbled across in time. "...I can't say I agree much on his ideas. I'd prefer someone who ... isn't ... into world conquest. I agreed to try to save my star, not take it over." The mask and robes hide much, like anything like expression changes to go with his carefully, ever so carefully controlled tone of almost neutrality.
PicoDevimon freezes in place for a solid two or three seconds, eyes wide and round, before leaning over the edge of the hood to peer down at Nanomon, grinning again, but there's an edge of nervousness to it.
"That was just a joke! Who'd wanna run the whole world? I just want some lunch!"
no subject
"I see, I see," he said. "Your partner simply has a penchant for kidding around. I hope the two of you can begin to appreciate the different things about each other before long."
He laughed. "Besides, you Tamers have so much more to worry about than conquering the world. We have to save it of course, first!"
no subject
Somehow to Erichthonios' ears that didn't sound very enthusiastic, but if nothing else, Nanomon's arrival put a stop to most of the declarations of conquest and rulership. After a moment of thought, he carefully tucks his legs up underneath himself and kneels on the ground, putting him far closer to an easy speaking range with the strange digimon than standing around.
It seems a bit more polite that way. "I've been meaning to find out, but there's so much else going on. What exactly is the world in danger from? Does anyone know?"
no subject
He looked back and forth to the side, before sighing.
"I suppose I could tell you, though. I don't think letting someone know in advance will be much of a problem."
no subject
"If everyone will know in a little bit more," Erichthonios agrees, sounding as utterly reasonable as he possibly can manage, "There's not much I could do with any information. I barely have anyone I could tell, so it'll still be a surprise to most."
Of course if the news is 'a meteor is about to crash into the city, so just brace yourselves' chances are good he's going to mention it to every single person he can. A brief, cautious glance upward shows no such descending doom.
no subject
"You're here to deal with a threat called ALIAS," he said. "It's a condition that makes Digimon run wild... we know little about it, except that the victims of it can only say that word. It's spread throughout the mainland, so... that's why we revived Tamer Union. To see if Tamers would be strong enough to help us."
He sighed. "But now contact with the mainland is cut off. We have no idea how bad it is there. We came all this way to find and revive Tamer Union, and it might have trapped us on this island. In any case, our next goal is going to be to discover what clues we might find on Access Island. And... help the community of course. It's only fair, given we're here.
"But ah... you don't have to feel obligated," Nanomon continued. "In the end, the choice is yours on what to do. But the Digital World is connected to the worlds that formed it... I'm sure that getting to the bottom of ALIAS will also hold the solution to resolving the distortions in your world."
no subject
He spreads his hands slightly. "But I'm no expert on contagions, and that sounds like what it might be to my uneducated ears. I'm a gaoler. My ... my friend Themis may be better suited, though I will do everything I can of course."
no subject
no subject
In the extremes. He's never even had a cold! "But as far as I know, if you had something contagious, just by being around you, we could catch it. ..This ALIAS.. I suppose we'll find out sooner rather than later if it affects us and our new friends.."
But none of it seemed like it desperately needed to be known by everyone right now, if it was going to be announced soon enough anyway. "Thank you for telling us."
no subject
Nanomon nodded. "That's what we intend to do. Just give things a start. And don't worry, it's no trouble at all."
no subject
Chances are astronomical that these are questions PicoDevimon could answer himself, but he very much is NOT. "Is there a designation that is used for aggressive, hostile beings specifically, or is it ..ah, anyone could suddenly be taken with ill temper, and has nothing to do with their type?"
Honestly Erichthonios just wants nice categories to put things in. This digimon is always going to try to eat him, that one's always friendly.. he has this sinking feeling that such categories just might not exist.
no subject
Nanomon shook his head at the next part. "It depends on the individual, I'm afraid," he said. "Some Digimon are more inclined towards certain kinds of behavior, but there are always exceptions."
no subject
And then start fetching people who can heal it. Killing innocent people who were under the influence of some sort of digital spell would be terrible. "...Uh, this might be thinking a bit far ahead, but do you suppose there's holding facilities that can safely inter the afflicted until they can be ... cured or healed or dispelled or whatever it takes to be rid of this problem?"
