TDM #2 - "Stranger and Stranger Still"
It's been practically two months since Tamers first appeared in the Digital World, but to many of the inhabitants of Access Island, their true nature is elusive. More and more Digimon want to not only encounter a Tamer, they want to know all there is to know about them. And with that desire growing...there's those who wish to give the people want they want, if only for the sake of their bottom line.
And so, newshounds and entertainment personalities are out in force. The Digimon who work for AIBS (that's Access Island Broadcasting Company) have a single mission, and that's get an interview with a Tamer and their partner. Their numbers include Monitamon of various colors, wearing little newsie hats.
These ninja-like Digimon may appear cute and non-threating, but they are relentless, and unafraid to use their ninja skills to pursue their quarry. Once they've found it? Expect a barrage of questions and microphones being thrust in your face as they try to interview you for AIBC's next "Tamers: Uncovered" special!
Interesting fact: Digimon are susceptible to influence from offworlders and their emotions. And with so many Tamers coming to take care of the infant Digimon at Kangarumon's nursery this past month...well, those little guys have got big ideas now. They want to go on an adventure, and in search of one, they've escaped the nursery to wander Access City!
Naturally, Kangarumon can't have that! Baby Digimon need to be taken care of! They're too small and inexperienced to go out alone, before they've evolved! But unfortunately, she's just one Digimon, and she can't track down and collect every young Digimon that's gone off wandering.
That's where the Tamers come in. Baby and Baby II Digimon are running rampant throughout the city, getting into places they shouldn't, causing trouble, and generally putting themselves in danger! So Kangarumon has asked Sunflowmon for Tamer Union to step in and help gather them up. Sunflowmon has agreed, naturally, and sent word out to everyone's Digivice explaining the problem and asking them to help.
Beware, though. Some of these babies don't want to come back, and being outside the nursery may just be the push they need to evolve to Child level! In which case, they'll be strong enough to fight back! Try to get them home without hurting any of them!
Remember the Goblimon from last month? Well, it turns out they were working for someone. As part of a gang. And that gang? Had higher-ranking members, who aren't too happy with their "cute little subordinates" getting pushed around!
Cue the appearance of Fugamon, Hyougamon, and Ogremon (both normal and X-evolved varieties) in the city! They're not exactly the type to frequent places like Access City, and in this case, their intentions aren't exactly good!
They'll start by smashing up shops and other places of business, bullying citizens, and perpetrating random acts of destruction in order to draw Tamers out! Once they actually find a Tamer? They're going to attack them, of course! All the while, these Oni Digimon might make mention of a "boss" that's giving them permission to be there, cryptically referencing that someone might be behind both their and the Goblimon's actions.
What's a Tamer to do but fight back, and try to drive the Oni Digimon off? They'll be a bit much for one Child-Level Digimon to take on, but when one Tamer-Digimon pair is working together with another, they just might be enough to take them!
So, as some people discovered last month, the Goblimon were using the Trailmon lines to transport Dokunemon into the Panorama Plains. It seems that a few managed to get through, and now? Their are large numbers of the little Larva Digimon gobbling up crops at Function Farms!
Once again, Sunflowmon puts the call out on everyone's Digivices. Tamers are to go to Function Farms and subdue the Dokunemon before they can ruin the latest harvest, and gather them up so they can be transported back to places like Material Jungle. Some might fight back, but Sunflowmon was prepared: she's personally ensured that tree bark from the Jungle has been collected, which can be used to pacify the Dokunemon without a fight.
Of course, some Dokunemon might think they like the taste of meat plants more than they do tree bark, so they'll be determined to fight back. But it's up to the Tamers to do whatever they can and get these Larva Digimon back home and hopefully disrupt the plans of this so-called "Boss"! Once a Dokunemon is subdued, they can be gathered up together in humane cages and transported home.
If necessary, you may ask questions below. Furthermore, if you wish to have any of the Digimon mentioned in the above threads npc'ed for you by a mod, you may request one below. NPCing them yourself is also an option, but only mod-run NPCs will offer the chance to be connected to ongoing plots.
